Process Engineer
Job Description:
We are looking for a Process Engineer who will support the in-house engineering department in process
design, equipment specification, engineering coordination, commissioning, and operational
improvement activities.
In this role, you will participate in the full lifecycle of industrial process plant development, from
preparation of process documentation and technical inputs for design organizations to equipment
selection support, supplier technical clarification, commissioning, and plant performance improvement.
Responsibility (Tasks):
1. Process Engineering and Design Support
Develop and update block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, and piping and
instrumentation diagrams.
Prepare technical input data for external design organizations.
Review process documentation prepared by external design organizations and identify
inconsistencies, missing data, or technical issues.
Support development and verification of material balances, energy balances, process
parameters, and utility requirements.
2. Equipment Specification and Selection Support
Prepare and update technical specifications, datasheets, and process requirements for key
process equipment.
Review supplier technical proposals, datasheets, and deviations from the process engineering
perspective.
Support equipment selection by evaluating capacity, flow rate, pressure, temperature, materials
of construction, performance, reliability, maintainability, and compatibility with process
requirements.
Identify possible equipment substitutions or parameter adjustments without compromising
safety, quality, process performance, or compliance with project requirements.
Collaborate with procurement and equipment sourcing specialists by providing technical input
for supplier long lists, short lists, proposal comparison, and clarification requests.
3. Engineering Coordination and Technical Review
Coordinate assigned technical topics with mechanical, piping, instrumentation, electrical,
automation, construction, maintenance, and operations teams.
Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and technical clarification meetings.
Support identification and resolution of technical conflicts between process design, equipment
design, layout, procurement, construction, and operation requirements.
Escalate major technical risks, unresolved deviations, or design inconsistencies to the Lead
Process Engineer.
4. Commissioning, Startup, and Operational Support
Participate in commissioning, installation, startup, and acceptance testing activities.
Provide technical support during equipment installation, process line startup, troubleshooting,
and early operation.
Collect and analyze operational data to identify process deviations, performance issues,
bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
Support process optimization initiatives related to productivity, reliability, maintainability, energy
efficiency, safety, and equipment performance.
Position Objectives
Ensure quality and completeness of process engineering documentation required for design,
procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation.
Enable technically correct equipment specification and selection by ensuring alignment
between process requirements, supplier data, project constraints, and plant standards.
Support successful commissioning and startup through practical process engineering input,
acceptance testing support, and operational troubleshooting.
