ISO and OHSAS certification for OCSiAl’s single wall carbon nanotube production process
OCSiAl is the largest manufacturer of SWCNTs and sells its products worldwide. The company has production facilities in Novosibirsk, Siberia, with regional retail offices in Europe, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, India and the USA. “In 2017, our SWCNT output totalled 5.5 tonnes, or 90% of global output. Demonstrating the compliance of our manufacturing process with the relevant international standards is of key importance to our customers,” says Anastasiya Zagoruyko, OCSiAl Quality Manager.
The OCSiAl manufacturing process uses an integrated quality, health, safety and environmental management system. Compliance of this integrated management system with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 has now been confirmed by the DQS Group certification body, which is accredited by a number of national accreditation bodies such as DAkkS, ANAB and UKAS. Based on these audit results, OCSiAl has been awarded the DQS and IQNet certificates.
The certificates obtained confirm that OCSiAl determines and controls manufacturing risks, ensures product quality, takes care of personnel safety and controls environmental impacts in compliance with the relevant Russian laws.
Moreover, OCSiAl is the only SWCNT manufacturer in the world to be registered under the EU REACH regulations. This allows the company to supply up to 10 tonnes of SWCNTs to the European market annually.
OCSiAl is rapidly ramping up its SWCNT production capacity. Once its new production facility is commissioned in 2018, total annual output will reach 60 tonnes.
