OCSiAl conducts a scientific conference in Israel jointly with the Bar Ilan University

Luxemburg (November 13, 2014) — On November 13 OCSiAl in cooperation with the Institute for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials at Bar Ilan University conducted a scientific conference "Carbon nanotubes: scientific background and prospects for industrial applications".

Among the speakers there are: Ziva Eger, Chief Executive of International Investments and Industrial Cooperation at the Israeli Ministry of Economy; Reshef Tenne, Professor of Nanotechnology, Weizmann Institute of Science, member of the Israeli Academy of Sciences and Humanities, member of the Academia Europaea; Mikhail Predtechenskiy, Chief Technology Officer of the OCSiAl and, what's more important, author of OCSiAl's technology for SWCNT synthesis.

Recognizing the potential of industrial use, many companies had shown interest in OCSiAl’s work and products, including representatives from Keter Plastic, Intel, HP, Vulcan Volta, IAI, Elbit, 3M, Kodak, who visited the conference. The conference at Bar Ilan is another step towards introduction of nanomaterials into various fields and discovering their full potential as the technology of the future. As Ziva Eger, Chief Executive of International Investments and Industrial Cooperation, said in her speech at the conference: «OCSiAl and Israel are driving innovation in action, together».

OCSiAl’s senior management is conducting several days of visit to Israel, dedicating them to the search for new Israeli partners for the distribution of OCSiAl’s core product — TUBALL, joint production of industrial modifiers and for developing new products based on TUBALL, and discussing among other issues a possible establishment of the production facility.

«Israel is one of the world’s leading knowledge and innovation centers in nanotechnology. We even started to consider building one of our plants here as a potential option for future development,» said Konstantin Notman, Vice President of OCSiAl. «For now, we intend to deepen the contact with the Israeli market in all aspects – enlarging our customer base, establishing contacts with Israeli dealers and conducting cooperation with industrial companies and academic bodies».
